Find Something to Motivate You Towards Your Fitness and Strength Goals!

I have been training people from all walks of life for about 9 years now. There is one and only one consistent characteristic that holds firm with all of my most successful clients. The one constant variable that I am referring to is motivation! If you aren't intrinsically motivated then you will NOT succeed in anything. Thats right, I said it!

In order for you to succeed in your personal fitness and strength program you have to find something that can keep you motivated. Even for those clients that I know that have been very successful and are intrinsically motivated they still have to find something to work towards to keep that inner fire burning. This is a great thing to do if you are starting back into a structured exercise program. Your strength and conditioning program should be catered for you to work towards a specific goal. Whether your goals include weight-loss, improving athletic performance, or just plane health improvement you need to specify what you want to improve on to give you a reason for your fitness campaign.

By now you may know that I am a huge proponent of kettlebells. I enjoy working with the ancient device because of many reasons. The main reason I started training with kettlebells was because I wanted to learn more about the uniqueness of it. It involves such a different dynamic than I ever experienced in training. Even with my years of experience training athletes and my own athletic background it excited me to learn about this ancient art form of fine-tuning the body! This was enough to keep me motivated.

Now my goals are even more specific. Like improving the total number of overhead snatches with a 24kg bell. This is a specific enough goal for me to stay motivated. Other things you may want to consider would be entering some form of competition or competitive event. These are all great options for you to stay the course throughout your personal strength and fitness adventure!

Motivate Yourself - Don't Be a Quitter, Discover 3 Key Steps to Get and Stay Motivated

One of the biggest obstacles to success is the time factor. Everybody desires a change for better in any given area of their lives: health, finances, self esteem or personal relationships. But not all of us have what it takes to stick to a plan and walk it out.

The truth is that great ideas will not change our lives overnight. On the contrary, the changes we choose of our own will always happen gradually. And their outcome depends on how motivated we are and how motivated we will stay throughout the process.

Let's face it. Being enthusiastic about a new idea for a few days, or even a week, is easy. Anybody can do that. It is when the going gets tough and when it turns out to be harder than we imagined that we lose momentum and eventually give up on our new project.

If you are a giver-upper, here is good news for you: You can change that bad habit-because that is what quitting is all about-and learn how to achieve your goals successfully.

Acquire a Vision

Long term projects cannot succeed if they are chosen randomly as a whim of the moment. You might have very good ideas, but you need to take them one step further if you want to implement them successfully.

First ask yourself who you are and who you want to become.

You might not be aware of it, but God has already laid out a wonderful plan for your life. You were not placed furtively on this planet to survive as good as you possibly can. The Bible states you are His masterpiece created to walk in a life He has already prepared beforehand (Ephesians 2:10).

So all you have to do is connect with God and flow with His program!

Fix Your Thought Life

Most of us make the mistake of focusing on externals when we implement changes in our lives. We neglect working on our mindset, the very place where wrong thought patterns will cause our endeavor to fail.

If those wrong thoughts are not dealt with, they will lead you to quit just as they did in your previous projects. Because the thoughts you have today will determine your life tomorrow.

The most powerful way to change wrong thought patterns is by studying the Word of God-the Bible-and finding out what God has to say about your situation. And that leads to key number 3:

Have Faith

Somebody once said, "Faith can move mountains." And it does. Faith is the most important factor when it comes to achieving success in life.

You might say, "But I don't have a strong faith!"

That's easy to solve: Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It is when you diligently seek God and His way of operating that you will come to see yourself as the one He created you to be: A victorious overcomer.

You can find out what God's plan is for your life and change the course of your life forever. Learn how to flow with God's plan for your life, and how to successfully develop the talents He has given you with my free e-course "7 Steps to Consistently Change Your Life" and e-book "The Power of Self-Directed Learning" at http://www.Self-DirectedLearningForSuccess.com

Self-Motivation in 4 Easy Steps

Andrew Carnegie once said, "People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents."

In other words, unmotivated people will need to be happy living in mediocrity. I have yet to meet anyone that would totally fit that description.

Listed below are 4 opportunities for self-motivation.

1. Make a clear list of your goals and keep it with you at all times.

Refer to this list often and become passionate about each and every goal. Set your sights on achieving these goals and don't let anyone talk you out of them.

Successful entrepreneurs are people who turn "off" their ears when someone tells them they "can't do it!" They do not understand the word, "can't!"

Are your goals "beneath" you because you think you "can't do anything bigger?" If you think small, you'll only achieve small! That reminds me of the other day while driving downtown. We were following behind a truck that had a sign giving the name of the business and then underneath it said, "Drywall Repair Service." My husband commented on the fact that this company only did drywall repairs -- what a small dream. Why not include a service for complete drywall installation or textured drywall surfacing.

Think BIG and work passionately towards that end and you'll be surprised at your BIG achievements!

Remember Carnegie? And... Mediocrity?

2. Put your mind over matter!

Regardless of what you see as an "obstacle," believe that you CAN overcome that obstacle and achieve your goals and then, guess what? You can! You really can accomplish your goals!

The "mind-over-matter" factor is the strongest force in the universe. If you believe you can do it, then you really can! Unfortunately, of course, the opposite is true as well. If you believe that you cannot do it, then you really can't!

You can only accomplish what you make up your mind to do. All goals are within your reach. The only thing standing in your way is, whether you believe you can achieve them or not!

3. Don't ever focus on past failures or mistakes.

Thomas Edison was the great inventor that gave us (among other things) the "light bulb." I'm not sure that anyone really knows how many times Edison tried the same test over and over again with only one small variable changed each time. Every time he tried the same test again and again, he was hopeful of success.

Thomas Edison never gave up trying until... at last... light in the bulb!

Edison did not understand the words, "Look how many times you have tried and failed!" - or - "You can't do it!" Edison persevered and just kept trying over and over again. He was more aware than anyone else that, "Success always follows perseverance."

4. There is no such thing as, "LUCK!"

Donald Trump once said, "The harder I worked, the luckier I got!" Hmmmm... then the opposite must also hold true. "The less I work, the unluckier I get!"

So you see, luck has nothing to do with it! Hard work is the luck that everyone has access to. Hard work combined with perseverance is UNSTOPPABLE!

It's not too late to make up your mind to be "Lucky!" To be "Lucky" means to ignore all negatives while combining hard work with perseverance to accomplish the goals you set in #1.

Be the author of your own "luck," because there is no "free-lunch!"

How to Motivate Yourself to Achieve Your Goals

I've been sitting here wondering about the reasons why people make changes in their lives, both business and personal.

And I realised there are any number of possibilities why people seek change.

One reason is the pain of the status quo.

The saying, 'if you do what you've always done, you will get what you've always got', is something I can relate to and the memories are not ones I cherish.
At the beginning all I did was try to follow what other people said I needed to do.

Unfortunately, while there are some good people out there who give genuine advice, there are many more that are just out to make a quick buck and they'll tell you anything to get you to buy their products.

And it can be extremely difficult to filter out the good from the bad when you have no idea which is which.

Believe me; I'm glad I'm past that stage, and something I hope I remember when others new to the industry ask me for advice.

Why do I say 'I hope...'?

Because I've seen so many people coming out with their bullshit stories about how they struggled early on, lived in their cars and ate peanut butter and jam sandwiches...

...only to scam others out of their hard earned money.

I always assumed, in the early days, if those guys really did suffer like that before they made it big, surely they know how it feels and they'll ensure the same doesn't happen to others?

Wrong!

Either they were lying through their teeth... or they soon forgot where they were once upon a time.

After losing tens of thousands of pounds (that's right, pounds), I learned my lesson, the hard way.

However, one thing I never did was to give up.

I struggled through and began to see the fruits of my labours.

And now, I want to give you a few bits of advice on how to cope in your businesses, online or off, when you feel like nothing is going right.

Here's a list of things to keep in mind along the way to help motivate you in your quest for business success:

Aim to be the best. If you aim for the top and only hit the middle, it's still a success. If you aim for the bottom, it's likely that's all you'll hit.

Stay away from people who are negative, and surround yourself with successful people, things and places.

Never let anyone tell you 'you can't'. Always believe 'you can'.

Keep an open mind and consider all possible options.

The more you know about your subject the more you'll be motivated to endure when times are hard and things look bleak.

Be determined to do what you set out to do.

Never, ever, give up. When you give you, you fail. I carried on when everyone else thought I was failing. Heck I carried on even when I thought I was failing and wanted to chuck it all in. I didn't give up and, from each failure, I learned a lesson - stop doing what doesn't work, and carry on doing what does.

Do what you enjoy doing.

Plan as if you're going to live for ever... live as if you're going to die tomorrow. If you work to these ethics, you'll work harder and better.

Don't forget family and friends - you don't need to involve them in your business, but you do need to involve them in your life.

Do as much as is necessary to get the job done, and then do a little more. It's only when you truly exert yourself you'll feel motivated to do more.

Never lose sight of your dreams. If you watched the movie 'Collateral' with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, you'll see that Foxx's character always had a picture of his dream home in his taxi cab. And, whenever he needed a reminder as to why he was working so hard, he'd look at that picture. Hold on to your dreams.

When you've determined you want to achieve something, do it. Don't wait for things to happen.

Always play fair. Never try to make your life by destroying the lives of others. That means no lying, cheating or stealing. Behave with the utmost integrity at all times.

Realise that not everything you want is going to go according to plan. If you prepare yourself for those times when things bomb, you'll be able to cope better with it.

Practice - repeat what you know, over and over again. The more you do something, the better you'll become. A martial artist doesn't become a good kicker overnight. It takes hundreds and even thousand of practice kicks to perfect the kick you see them execute on the screen.

I'll repeat this one again - Never quit. The moment you quit, you've lost.

Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today. This is one sure fire way of failing, or delaying success. Believe me, I know.

Self discipline - I plan my day. I know exactly what I was supposed to be doing this morning. I knew what I was supposed to be doing yesterday. And I know what I'm supposed to do tomorrow. However, I know I'll have to ensure I stick to my routine or the best plans go to waste. Plan what you're going to do... and do it.

Become a student of life. Discover all you can about your subject and beyond. The more you know, the better you'll become in your business.

Learn to listen.

When I was a teenager I used to do bodybuilding. Every night I used to visualise how I wanted to be. And I took steps to reach those goals. I became so huge, friends used to joke they'd need to knock down their walls to let me into their homes. Visualization is an amazing tool if used correctly.

Whatever it is you want to achieve, believe you can. You have to want to achieve it so much so you can taste it.

Always remember, you are unique. You have something to offer others don't. Find out what that is and nurture it.

I hope that list gives you some food for thought and helps you in your quest to achieve your goals.

Self Motivation, Your Key to Success

Motivation is defined as the intention of achieving a goal, leading to goal-directed behaviour. It drives us towards achievement our goals, give us a reason to do things that is required to reach our goal. There are two kinds of motivation, outside and self motivation.

Outside motivation are motivation from an inspiring book, a story about courage, nature and even a child. You could be motivated after hearing a speech from an inspirational speaker or you might want to do something for the community when you heard a heartwarming story. Sometimes, it is through outside motivation that made us think about our life and our achievements. Outside motivation gives you hope and remind you that it is possible to be successful and be happy.

There is no stronger motivation then self motivation. People can tell you all kinds of inspiring stories, advice and encouragement but if we have no desire to change, it can't motivate us. Self motivation requires us to look within ourselves to find the reason to drive us towards our goal. We accept and acknowledge what is lacking in our life and make it our goal to change ourselves. Self motivation requires a lot of perseverance and belief. In self motivation, we tell ourselves what we want to do; nobody and nothing can otherwise spur us to action. We are in charge of our actions and emotions.

Outside motivation could be the first step in helping us identify our goals. It gives us hope and sometimes provides us with the guidelines towards achieving our goals. However, as this is other people's experience, we might get side tracked or find it difficult to follow. Of course, we can be de motivated too by our own self motivation. However, as it comes from within us and we mastermind the process; self motivation is a stronger and more secure way to help us achieved our goals.

Six Ways to Positively Motivate People

Most people need money, but are not only motivated by their salary alone. There are six main powerful Motivational factors that help create a congestive and satisfied workplace.

1. Achievement

Creating a sense of achievement counts as a highly powerful motivational tool that in most circumstances creates an extremely satisfied workforce. People often look back at their life, and focus on what they have achieved, above what they earned.

2. Recognition

Recognizing someone's contribution to a project, or an on going task can create a higher level of well being and self-esteem, even in the most trying of situations. Simply showing that you care, and have noticed a positive contribution could give added incentive to a tired employee.

3. The Work Itself

Most jobs may not be exciting or interesting after a certain period of time. Motivating people through their job often means you need to create a vision around the job, a vision that includes other motivational factors.

4. Responsibility

Added responsibility itself is not a major motivational factor to many people, but recognizing and rewarding that responsibility could be motivational. Creating a sense of trust by giving responsibility is one way of recognizing a person's contribution that in turn could motivate even the most cynical employees.

5. Advancement

In an era were most employees do not expect a job for life, advancement within the job motivates most people. Reward based Individuals, may become more efficient if advancement means a pay raise or incentive as they advance within an Organization.

6. Growth

Positive Motivation often is the key to creating a conjusive and satisfied workforce, within any Organization. A busy but happy atmosphere within an organization conveys an aura of positive energy, that should attract new business, and build the Organizations future.

Believe in Yourself

Feeling like you are lower than dirt is terrible. Yet, I would say there are many of you reading this article right now who feels that way. Your self esteem has plummeted and you feel hopeless. Maybe you have even reached a point where you don't believe anymore that you are even worthy of feeling good about yourself again. You couldn't be more wrong.

They broke the mold when they made you.

The most important reason why you need to believe in yourself is because you are special. There is nobody in this world quite like you. Nobody else has your eyes, your smile, your nose, or even your quirky habits. While there may be some things you want to change about yourself, at the very core, you are an amazing, unique individual.

This world needs you.

You contribute to your society. Your thoughts and actions form and shape the world around you. Everything you do is important and necessary to this world. Without you, your community, church, and country just wouldn't be the same. Regardless of how small or large the contribution you make, you are needed to help guide future generations. You have the potential to aid in teaching and leading many along the way.

If you don't, who will?

Let's face it. No matter how much support and encouragement you might have, you make the final choice whether or not to believe and receive such accolades. It is totally up to you to decide to stand up and become active in your own life, or to sit idly by while every day passes you. If you don't believe in yourself, who will? When you can embrace yourself as you are and begin to believe in who you are, others will take notice and begin believing in you, too.

You aren't a nobody.

Despite how low you might feel right now, you have to keep reminding yourself that you are somebody. You are special. You were placed on this Earth for a purpose. Discovering that purpose might lead to a few speed bumps along the way, but nobody said life would ever be easy. So pump up your faith and start believing in yourself today. Take charge of your thoughts and emotions. Live your life like there's no tomorrow. Give yourself-and others-a reason to believe in you.

Make a list of all of the things that come up for you when you ask this question, or the things you see as reasons you can't possibly feel outrageously healthy right NOW!

Go on write down your list; no-one's watching and you don't have to share it if you don't want to!
What did you come up with - I'm overweight, I smoke, I have no energy, I don't exercise, everyone in my family suffers from... I am sure the reasons are as many and varied as the wonderful people reading this e-book. And you know none of this has anything to do with feeling outrageously healthy, because feeling outrageously healthy is a state of mind, not a state of body. You get to choose an outrageously healthy state of mind and my mission is to show you how you can make this choice and transform the quality of your life and health, easily and effortlessly. You know, once you decide to start feeling outrageously healthy at every opportunity, then you'll start acting outrageously healthy too! It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I have a question for you? How many times have you started on Monday? You know what I mean - Monday is the day you're starting that diet, or exercise program, or giving up smoking, or you're going to stop biting your nails... Have you started on Monday more than once? Wow I can hear you from where I am sitting! Yes of course you have, and so have I. Why did we need to start more than once? Why wasn't the first time the solution that got us to our goal? I have an idea why all these Monday starts haven't gotten us to where we want to be. It's because we have been using willpower to overcome whatever we see as an issue - we will just stop eating our favorite food, or just stop smoking. We will just decide to do it and that's it! The thing with willpower is it is only one tool we have at our disposal and it's a tool of your conscious mind. What does this mean? It means that for you to take action you have to be consciously thinking about it all the time and that is really hard work. You have to be vigilant all the time; aware of what you are doing every minute of every day and it's exhausting. Guess what happens - you sometimes slip up then what do you do? How do you feel? I bet you feel really awful; maybe even thinking, "oh no I've failed again". And then what do you do? Slide back into the old habit again and feel even worse. That's right, isn't it?

Today's the day that you get the chance to change your approach because you have started to uncover some new understanding. The next step is to acquire some new skills so you can use your unconscious mind to help you create and live outrageously healthy life you deserve.

5 Ways to Transform Mediocrity Into Magnificence

The definition of mediocrity is powerlessness, helplessness, weakness and limitation. The definition of magnificent is brilliant, awe-inspiring, significant and wonderful.

Are you living a life of mediocrity or magnificence?

Most of you would probably answer the question by choosing magnificent as opposed to mediocre. Certainly, your life has meaning but the real question is how much emphasis do you place on living magnificently versus mediocrity?

Are you settling for less than you deserve?

Are you surrounded by negative, gossiping people? Do you minimize your accomplishments?

Do you constantly blame, compete and compare yourself with others?

Is your personal life out of sorts, your career stuck? Are you spending more time focused on things over which you have no control (i.e., the price of gas, the weather, other people's problems, politics, etc.)?

If you can identify with any of the above, I offer you the following to get you on the path of magnificence, starting NOW!

1. Change your conversation from mediocre to magnificent.

When you encounter people who speak negative, you notice it won't be long before you start to speak in the same way. Begin interjecting more positive talk into your conversations; refrain from engaging in negative conversations and meaningless activities that take away valuable time that could be spent developing magnificence.

2. Make an agreement with yourself to strive for excellence in your conversations. This is where you begin to shift from mediocre to magnificence. Your focus and conversations will begin to lean towards possibilities rather than improbabilities. Here's where you begin speaking magnificence into your life.

3. Attract magnificence.

Once you commit to striving for excellence, the next step is when you turn your focus to others who also can't afford mediocrity. Like attracts like. And when you are fully committed to magnificence, you will attract others who are focused and committed to living their best life.

4. Take a risk - When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

We all have faced challenges, obstacles, conflicts and struggles. And we must not let these things stop us from taking risks. Certainly, I don't mean anything dangerous or harmful but to carefully consider stretching yourself to do more, achieve more and be more! Playing safe is a direct path to regret.

5. Dare to be different.

"Following the herd is a sure way to mediocrity" - Patti Wilson

Trying to meet the expectations of someone else is a sure way to sabotage your dreams. No one knows better than YOU what it is you want. You must be willing to stand out, speak up, and not miss out on the opportunities that are meant just for you. Show up bold, confident and step into your limelight. The world is waiting for you!

Achievement Motivation - Do You Have it in you
